Food Security Service Center II

The Feed the Future Food Security Service Center II (FSSC II) will enable BFS to provide short- and longer-term expertise for state-of-the-art food security support services; capacity building; and expert analysis and integration of cross cutting issues that are critical to the achievement of the Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS).

The services provided will support a wide range of agriculture and food system technical areas, centered on the objectives of the Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS), such as on-farm productivity enhancements, research and extension, input supply, value chain development, market development, technology transfer, policy reform, nutrition interventions, access to finance, and institutional capacity building, among others, as required.

The purpose of the Feed the Future FSSC II is to assist BFS to provide additional key assistance needed to further its implementation of the GFSS in a more effective, efficient, and sustainable manner globally. The activity will provide, but is not limited to:

Objective 1: State-of-the-art expertise for program and project design

Objective 2: Expert analyses and problem identification

Objective 3: Capacity building for missions and USAID Washington Operating Units in incorporating core objectives of the GFSS into their programming
