Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award for the provision of a Speech Language Pathologist for the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens, located at 42 Patton Road Ayer, Massachusetts. The services will be performed in the Health Services Department.

Work Details
The contractor shall be responsible for providing verification of credentials, diagnosing and evaluating the inmate speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, psychological, and social factors, performing and interpreting tests to assist in the differential diagnosis of the inmate, selecting appropriate therapeutic procedures to treat the identified needs of the inmate, developing, documenting, and implementing a plan of care, providing instruction/therapeutic exercises to inmates to facilitate self-care within the limits of inmate’s abilities, providing instruction in the use of assistive devices to the inmate.
The contractor must possess specific qualifications including a graduate degree from an accredited program, a valid and current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), minimum of 1-year recent experience as a speech language pathologist, proof of CPR certification, and experience with diagnosis and treatment of dysphagia.

Period of Performance
The schedule is subject to some variation as the needs of the institution may vary. The contractor will normally conduct six (1) hour sessions per day, 4 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM with an unpaid 30-minute lunch. The contractor shall not normally exceed an estimated 24 hours per week.
