Flathead NF Hungry Horse RD Snow Removal Services

Background
The Flathead National Forest, part of the USDA Forest Service, is seeking contractors to provide snow removal services at the Hungry Horse Ranger District.

This contract aims to ensure safe access and operational efficiency during winter months by maintaining clear roadways and walkways. The solicitation includes a base year and four option years for continued service.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. **Snow Removal**: Snow must be removed from designated road surfaces and walkways when accumulations reach 3 or more inches. Equipment may include tractors with snow blowers, hand shovels, or trucks with front-end plows, as determined by conditions.

2. **Sanding**: Traction sand must be spread on an as-needed basis using a mechanical spreader. Sand must be applied within 6 hours of notification and should be free of chemical contamination.

3. **Snowbank Removal**: A front-end loader or similar equipment will be required to remove snowbanks when they obstruct normal plowing operations. The bucket attachment should have a minimum capacity of one cubic yard.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2029, including a base year and four option years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Hungry Horse Ranger Station located in Hungry Horse, Montana.
