Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the VHA Regional Procurement Office Central, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 10, is issuing a Single Source Award (SSA) to RDC/John Poe Architects, LLLP (RDC/JPA) for design services. This contract is necessary due to the existing Design IDIQ contract having no additional capacity for modifications.

The goal of this contract is to facilitate essential engineering and design changes required for the repair of failed roof truss support and failed window and door lintels in Building 116 Headquarters at VAMC Dayton.

Work Details
The work involves investigative and technical tasks related to the design modifications needed for the Repair Failed Roof Truss, Windows, and Door Lintels under project number 552-18-103. The modifications will supplement and replace current drawings and specifications, which will be utilized for pricing and construction.

The unique characteristics of this project necessitate that only RDC/JPA can perform these modifications as they are the current designer of record for the Renovate Infrastructure Building 116 Phase 2 project. Engaging another firm would create ambiguity regarding professional liability, posing a significant risk to the government.
