Removal and Pruning of Hazard Trees in Fruita Hist

Background
The solicitation is for the removal and pruning of hazard trees at Capitol Reef National Park in Torrey, Utah within the Fruita Historic District. The National Park Service is seeking to award a firm fixed price contract for this project. The acquisition is in support of Capitol Reef National Park and is a 100% Total Small Business Set Aside.

Work Details
The project involves the removal and pruning of hazardous trees identified in a report completed by a certified Arborist in Winter of 2023. A total of 42 trees were identified as hazardous, with 3 requiring full removal, 38 needing hazardous deadwood removed, and various other tasks such as pruning/reduction/thinning of live wood to improve tree structure and health.

The work will also include debris cleanup, stump grinding, hauling off-site of all limbs, trunks, cut-up sections, and any chipped piles if applicable. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for providing all equipment, materials, tools needed to complete the project, ensuring safety measures are in place at the work site at all times during the project, and coordinating with park representatives for access needs and area closures.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from 1 July to 21 July 2024 in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW).

Place of Performance
The contract work will take place at Capitol Reef National Park in Torrey, Utah within the Fruita Historic District.
