Background
The Village of Ouzinkie, located on Spruce Island, approximately 10 miles north-northwest of Kodiak, Alaska, is the site for a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (PH1 ESA). This assessment aims to identify and analyze potential environmental risks and liabilities associated with the old school site. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) oversees this project to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations related to Native Allotments, Trust properties, and BIA-funded projects.

The assessment will help determine the presence of any contaminants at the site and assist in planning further remediation if necessary.

Work Details
The contractor will perform a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment which includes:

1. **Planning and Project Management**: Conducting a project kick-off meeting with BIA, developing a work plan, and establishing a schedule for tasks and milestones.

2. **Field Work**: Collecting direct information that connects recognized environmental conditions to the property and identifying potential contaminants of concern.

3. **Interviews and Records Review**: Gathering information from past and present owners, occupants, tribal, state, or local government officials to connect recognized environmental conditions to the property; reviewing records and documents that may identify recognized environmental conditions.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to be performed from March 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The performance location for field activities will be at the old school site within the Village of Ouzinkie, Alaska.
