Hazard Tree Removal   2

Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Sierra Front Field Office (SFFO) is requesting 94 acres hazard tree removal from within the Indian Creek Recreation Area located in Alpine County, Markleeville, California. In 2021, the Tamarack Fire burned through the Indian Creek Recreation Area. Fire damaged trees within the area have resulted in an environment of increased risk to public health and safety. Removal of these fire damaged trees will improve safe usage of the recreational area as well as enable future restoration actions.

Work Details
The treatment area consists of approximately 94 acres separated into three (3) units within the Indian Creek Recreation Area. To achieve the desired objectives within the specific project areas mechanized services will be required.
Manual services may be required on an as needed basis. Mechanized services include mastication and felling on slopes 0-35%. Manual services include cutting with power saws where slopes are in excess of 35%, mechanized exclusion zones, and as needed. The Contractor shall accomplish all work within the designated project area(s) per the specifications as outlined in Section 4.

Period of Performance: 09/01/2024 to 12/15/2024

Place of Performance
The services under this contract will be performed within the Indian Creek Recreation Area which is located in Alpine County, California. The project area is located approximately 7 miles north of Markleeville, California.
