Exascale Computer Facility Modernization

Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS) LLC is seeking sources for a pending solicitation for the Exascale Computing Facility Modernization (ECFM) Project at LLNL. The general scope of the project is to provide an additional 40 MW of power and 18,000 Tons of process cooling water to Livermore Computing's B453. This will enable LLNL to operate a series of the world's fastest High Performance Computers in the coming decade. The project includes, a 115kV power line extension to a new substation located adjacent to B453. Transformers will supply 13.8kV power that will be routed through underground duct banks to unit substations located in the mechanical room on the first floor of B453. A cooling tower will be constructed adjacent to the substation. Heat exchangers and pumps will connect to a cooling loop that will be routed underground to B453 and distributed overhead to the first floor mechanical room. Services are estimated at over $50M.
