EX-ENTERPRISE CVN 65 Dismantlement and Disposal   4

Background
The contract is issued by the U.S. Navy for the dismantlement and disposal of the EX-ENTERPRISE aircraft carrier. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and environmentally compliant dismantling of the vessel, including the demilitarization of its hull and all associated systems. The contractor will be responsible for removing hazardous materials and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:
1. Dismantle the hull and structure of the EX-ENTERPRISE by reducing it to scrap.
2. Demilitarize any remaining weapons systems and communications equipment through complete destruction as per DEMIL INST 4160.28.
3. Conduct inspections of the vessel as designated in CLINs 0001, 0002, and 0003 to assess the scope of work required.
4. Proposals must include a Firm-Fixed-Price basis covering all costs, including facilities capital cost.
5. The contractor may retain proceeds from the sale of scrap and reusable materials to offset costs.
6. Compliance with hazardous material removal laws and regulations is mandatory, with no warranty from the government regarding hazardous material locations.

Place of Performance
The dismantlement will occur at Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding.
