Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Software F-35 Compatibility   2

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a delivery order (DO) under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-21-G-0014 to General Atomics (GA), San Diego, California (CA) for the procurement of the efforts needed for an EMALS and AAG test program with F-35C aircraft to produce Aircraft Launch Bulletins (ALB) and Aircraft Recovery Bulletins (ARB) in support of aircraft integration aboard Ford-class aircraft carriers. The tasks to be performed for incorporation of the F-35 into baseline software for EMALS and AAG include modeling and simulation, control system settings development, software development and release, correction of deficiencies, test support, data analysis, meetings, schedules, and logistics update.

The period of performance for this order is June 2023 through December 2025.

As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the EMALS and AAG, GA is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical expertise to provide the required supplies and services.
