DUAL MODE HIGH INTENSITY APPROACH LIGHTING SYSTEM (ALSF-2/SSALR)

Background
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking vendors capable of producing an FAA-approved Dual Mode High Intensity Approach Lighting System (ALSF-2/SSALR). The system must meet specific requirements outlined in FAA-E-2689a, Notice 6 and include a Remote Monitoring System (RMS) as well as technical and engineering support during installation at various sites throughout the continental United States. The acquisition is subject to the Buy American Preference codified at 49 USC § 50101 and the corresponding FAA Acquisition Management System clause 3.6.4-5 FAA Buy American Preference - Steel and Manufactured Goods.

Work Details
The FAA requires vendors to produce multiple ALSF-2/SSALR systems, site spares, and depot spares, with the capability to produce one system per month thereafter. Vendors must provide a Technical Instruction Book (TIB) approved by the FAA, logistic support, spare parts, and demonstrate their ability to have a fully-operational production line capable of producing FAA-tested and -approved ALSF-2/SSALR systems within twelve months after contract award. Additionally, vendors must describe any supply chain issues that may impact manufacturing and delivery of the systems.
