Background
The solicitation is for the 8(a) Design-Build (DB)/Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) for Hampton Roads contract holders for contract numbers N4008523D0030/0031/0032/0033/0034/0035/0036/0037/0038. The project involves constructing an intermediate maintenance level composite repair shop for the CMV-22B aircraft at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. The facility will include shops, administrative space, paint mixing room, paint booth space, hazardous material storage, and other support areas. It shall be sized to accommodate the largest removable aircraft components anticipated to be repaired and will be located in close proximity to maintenance hangars and other Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) airframes shops.

Work Details
The work involves constructing a reinforced concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall system with an exterior split-faced CMU veneer, concrete pile foundation, interior walls of CMU, and a standing-seam metal roof system. The construction tasks include overall management and coordination of simultaneous construction activities, approach to avoid project schedule slippage due to material/equipment procurement and delivery delays, providing an overall CPM schedule showing the timeline of the proposed designs and construction, and demonstrating a clear understanding of the requirements of the RFP and a realistic plan for performing the necessary work within the permitted time period.
