THIS DESIGN BUILD PROJECT IS POSTED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THOSE CONTRACTORS ON THE CURRENT DHS/USCG NATIONAL MULTIPLE AWARD CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT III (NMACC III- Pool1).

This project is for design/build project is to replace existing steam and condensate piping throughout the U.S. Coast Guard Academy campus in New London, CT. Project to include replacing steam and condensate piping as indicated by section numbers in RFP specifications. Replace all steam / condensate piping and hot water supply / return piping within the indicated various mechanical rooms. Design-Build Steam and condensate piping (various sections). Contractor selected will provide all labor, material, equipment, mobilization, demobilization, permitting, construction support, quality control services, and ancillary items required.

Background
This contract is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which aims to recapitalize its Central Steam Distribution System located in New London, CT. The project involves replacing existing steam and condensate piping throughout the Academy campus to ensure efficient heating and hot water supply systems. The contractor will be responsible for design and construction tasks as specified in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Design-build project to replace steam and condensate piping as indicated in RFP specifications.

2. Replacement of all steam/condensate piping and hot water supply/return piping within various mechanical rooms.

3. Installation of a new ventilation system in tunnels, with fans to prevent air stagnation.

4. Provision of removable insulated valve wraps for all new valves.

- DIRECT BURIED: Piping routed from various locations including near the football field and between mechanical rooms.

6. Additive bid items (OPTIONS) include additional piping routes and mechanical room upgrades, such as replacing hot water supply/return piping and installing new equipment like heat exchangers and pumps.
