Department of State 2024 Design-Build Construction Contract for Praia, Cabo Verde New Embassy Compound (NEC) Project

Background
The U.S. Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) is requesting submissions to pre-qualify firms for Design-Build Construction Services for the construction of a New Embassy Compound (NEC) project Praia, Cabo Verde. The Project is described in the provided attachments. OBO seeks to commission our nation’s top constructors to produce facilities of outstanding quality and value. This project is available for full and open competition.

Work Details
The Praia New Embassy Compound (NEC) project will consist of the design and construction of a complete embassy campus including but not limited to a chancery with Controlled Access Area (CAA), a Support Annex (SPX), Utility buildings, a Main Campus Access Control (MCAC), a Service CAC (SCAC), a Consular CAC (CCAC) with dual screening for both American Center and Consular visitors, and parking both inside and outside the perimeter wall. The estimated construction cost is $310 - $350 million.

Place of Performance
The New Embassy Campus (NEC) will be in the capitol city of Praia, located on Santiago Island of Cabo Verde.
