Defense Supply Center Richmond(DSCR) Building 37 Historical Restoration

Background
The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is undertaking a project for the historical restoration of Building 37 Gatehouse. The goal of this contract is to address repairs to the exterior features of the building to reflect its historic time period while also providing flexibility for future use by shelling out the interior space. The project requires collaboration with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and DLA Environmental’s Cultural Resources personnel.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Conducting a pre-outage coordination meeting with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and installation representatives prior to any utility system shutdowns.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, including wearing hard hats, safety shoes, and high visibility apparel.
- Obtaining approval for any hazardous materials before bringing them onto the job site, with specific exclusions for radioactive materials, asbestos, mercury, and lead-based paint.
- Implementing a fall protection program that includes training and equipment for employees exposed to fall hazards.
- Conducting a Preconstruction Survey of the project site to document existing environmental conditions.
- Appointing an Environmental Manager responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and managing hazardous waste.
