DD Form 1577-2, Unserviceable (Repairable) Tag - Materiel

Background
The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of DD FORM 1577-2, UNSERVICEABLE (REPAIRABLE) TAG - MATERIEL as requested by the US Army. The goal of this contract is to produce durable tags that can withstand exposure to various environmental conditions, ensuring they remain legible and intact for equipment identification.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for producing 1,706,400 clipped corner tags with string, printed in fade-proof and weather-resistant inks. The specifications include:
- Printing in Pantone 355 Green with approximately 25% ink coverage on both sides.
- The front must contain type and rule matter within a solid border that bleeds on all sides and includes one reversed typeline.
- The back will feature a solid rectangular panel measuring approximately 5 x 1 inches, which must be created by the contractor.
- Each tag must have a drilled hole (3/16" diameter) reinforced with a hard fiber patch and rustproof metal eyelet, along with a double-looped cotton string.
- Tags are to be shrink-wrapped in packs of 100, with 36 packs per carton totaling 3,600 tags per carton.
- The paper used must be Type B, WHITE Tag equal to International Paper's Springhill Tag, 15 points thick and made from 100% chemical wood pulp with specific tensile strength requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to adhere to a shipping schedule that requires inside delivery by September 6, 2024.

Place of Performance
The production will take place at the contractor's facility as specified in the contract documents.
