DB for Major Maintenance & Repair of Building #3 at USCG Base Elizabeth City Elizabeth City, NC (NMACC III Pool 1)

Background
The contract involves Design-Build services to perform major renovations of Building #3, the Rescue Swimmer Training Facility (RSTF), at CG Base Elizabeth City in Elizabeth City, NC. The project requires the services of an Architecture/Engineering firm licensed in the State of North Carolina to provide design services for the project. The design shall be in conformance with applicable regulations, codes, and regulatory requirements. The intent of the project is to demolish and remove the Rescue Swimmer Pool and Pool Room, protect the West, North and East pre-cast walls and features to remain, construct a new corridor and exterior walls along the perimeter of the former pool area, fully reconstitute the building envelope, and restore all remaining facility functions and systems.

Work Details
The major work items include demolition of various areas such as the Rescue Swimmer Pool and Pool Room, wave generation room, temporary steel shoring equipment in the Pool Room, construction of a new corridor addition connected to existing pre-cast interior walls, restoration of all remaining facility functions and systems including HVAC, plumbing, pool circulation and sanitation, electrical, fire safety, site restoration including construction of a pedestrian accessible courtyard in the former pool location.

The design scope includes two tasks: Design Documents resulting in project construction drawings and completed construction permits; Project Construction including demolition of RS Pool Room and construction of a new corridor building addition.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at CG Base Elizabeth City in Elizabeth City, NC.
