Background
The Memphis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement to repair a D6T Dozer's rear main seal on the engine. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning of the D6T Dozer, which is critical for the agency's operations. Work Details
The work to be performed under this contract includes:

1. Washing the machine and removing the engine.
2. Removing the crankshaft rear seal and replacing it with a new seal.
3. Removing and reinstalling the torque converter.
4. Reinstalling the engine and attaching it to the transmission.
5. Refilling the transmission with clean fluid, changing all filters, and testing and repairing the transmission fluid as necessary. If the fluid does not meet appropriate standards, it will be drained and refilled again.
6. Performing a full cleaning of all components involved in the repair process, including washing/cleaning as needed.

All repairs must utilize Caterpillar new or remanufactured parts; aftermarket parts are not acceptable. The contractor is responsible for absorbing all core charges without additional costs to the Government. The minimum parts to be replaced include: Rear Main Seal, Oil, Oil Filter, Transmission Filter, Transmission Fluid, and removal/replacement of torque converter. After completion of work, the repaired D6T Dozer must be delivered in fully operational condition.
