CON ENG Bearlodge Shop Sewer Repair   3

Background
The USDA Forest Service is issuing a solicitation for the Bearlodge Shop Sewer Repair project. The goal of this contract is to repair a damaged 3-inch sewer line located in the parking area of the Bearlodge Ranger District Office in Sundance, Wyoming. The repair is necessary due to previous settlement issues that have caused clogs and damage to the surrounding asphalt surface.

Work Details
The work includes supplying all labor, materials, equipment, utilities, and necessary licenses and permits for the sewer line repair. Specific tasks include:

- Locating the propane line entering the district office;
- Excavating the broken sewer service line;
- Removing the broken segment and saturated soil;
- Compacting granular foundation material;
- Verifying that the line is clear;
- Repairing the broken segment;
- Placing and compacting granular backfill to 12 inches above the repair;
- Placing and compacting borrow material to within 15 inches of surface elevation;
- Backfilling with 12 inches of base course; and
- Placing 3 inches of asphalt surfacing (either hot or cold mix).

The contractor will also be provided with a key for access to the employee parking lot.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 30 days from the award date.

The construction will take place at USDA Forest Service Bearlodge Ranger District, 101 South 21st St, Sundance, WY 82729.
