Collection and Management of IQVIA Databases

Background
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to issue a sole-source contract to IQVIA. This contract aims to provide essential data to the Medicare Drug Rebate and Negotiations Group (MDRNG) within CMS, which is crucial for implementing and monitoring provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022.

IQVIA is uniquely qualified for this contract as they own, support, and maintain proprietary databases that are vital for CMS's analysis of prescription drug spending and utilization.

Work Details
The primary task under this contract is to provide MDRNG with prescription drug data from IQVIA. The Contractor shall deliver prescription drug price and utilization data critical for estimating prescription drug activity.

Specific databases and analytic tools to be accessed include:
- National Sales Perspectives (NSP)
- National Prescription Audit (NPA)
- Total Patient Tracker (TPT)
- PayerTrak

Additionally, the Contractor will support analyses related to total brand spending, dispensed prescriptions, pharmaceutical sales force activities, biotechnology products, longitudinal prescription data, pre-adjudicated claims data for outpatient and inpatient claims, and primary care electronic medical records. The unique datasets owned by IQVIA are essential for supporting the IRA's implementation.
