  • Change number of cleanings on Base and Options from 114 to 104.
  • Change cleaning schedule to twice a week (bi-weekly) throughout the period of performance.

Services Needed: Charter Bus Exterior/Interior Cleaning and Waste Removal per Performance Work Statement

The attached Wage Determination is applicable to this acquisition.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS:

Question) Are there specific deadlines or expected completion times for the bus cleanings?

Answers) There are no specific deadlines or expected completion times other than completion expected on the day of service.

Question) Will the cleaning and waste removal be done on site (JBAB Motor Pool)?

Answer) Yes, all services must be performed at the JBAB Motor Pool.

Question) Is there a facility were waste can be dumbed on site?

Answer) No, it will be the contractor's responsibility to dispose of waste in a appropriate facility and in accordance with local and state guidelines.

Question) Would there be any compensation or ability to request extra funds for an excessive cleaning to be performed?

Answer) No. The resulting award from this opportunity will be a Firm Fixed Price contract.

Question) What is the size of the waste tank on the buses?

Answer) The manual states there is a 37.8 L Lavatory Waste Retention Tank.

Question) Will the contractor have access and be able to use the water and power supply from the site or will they have to provide their own?

Answer) The vendor would need to provide their own due to the location of equipment.

Question) Will the vendor be responsible for restocking restroom supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and hand sanitizer?

Answer) No. The performance requirements for what the contractor shall do can be found on section 3 of the Performance Work Statement.

Question) How often should waste tanks be emptied and water tanks be refilled?

Answer) Every time a bus cleaning is performed.

Question) Are there designated parking areas or facilities for cleaning?

Answer) No. The vendor will have access to perform services in the lot where the vehicles are located.

Question) Will the buses sitting on asphalt or concrete?

Answer) Asphalt.

Background
The Marine Barracks Washington Motor Transport Division has a fleet of 8 charter buses that require cleaning and waste removal. The mission of the division is to maintain vehicle operations for MBW vehicles to support operations.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform tasks such as removing all dirt, grime, and stains from all exterior surfaces of the bus, sanitization and cleaning of all interior surfaces of the bus, detailed cleaning, sanitization, and deodorizing of all surfaces in the restroom, removing waste from all waste tanks in the vehicle, and replacing water for all water tanks in the vehicle. The services must be performed during normal working hours in coordination with the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC), 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, except U.S. Federal Holidays.
