Caster Deck

Background
The 727 Air Mobility Squadron (AMS) is a subordinate unit of the 721 Air Mobility Operations Group (AMOG) and is the sole Air Mobility Command (AMC) en route location in the United Kingdom. The squadron operates the Arial Port for the movement of cargo and passengers, and it is key to the rapid movement of cargo for all USAFE UK agencies. The installation of an additional caster deck will significantly improve their operation and allow them to pre-position specialized cargo moved as part of their Special Handling operation.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all the necessary transportation, equipment, power tools, materials, labor, loading/unloading, and supervision required to provide a caster deck to support Special Handling operations at Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, Air Freight Terminal, Bldg. 599. The caster deck will be made up of 15 full caster sections and three bespoke sections for a total of 134.97m2 or 1,452.80 sq ft.
Each standard caster deck section should measure 2,600 mm by 3,315mm with a depth of 208mm and include protective edge and barrier to secure pallets from rolling off. Specifications for the caster deck include safe working load up to 6,800 kg, galvanized steel construction, integrated weigh scale system, and specific requirements for castor type, swivel casters with toe guards, litter skirts, perforated top plates for external use, and finger stops.
