Caldwell Cabin Roof Replacement A-S National Forests

Background
The USDA Forest Service, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, is seeking to perform re-roofing of a historical cabin known as Caldwell Cabin, constructed in 1925.

The cabin is located in the Alpine Ranger District, approximately 10 miles south of Big Lake, Arizona. This project aims to preserve the historical integrity of the cabin while ensuring its structural soundness through necessary roofing repairs.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Mobilization: One-time fee for project site location.
2. Replace Roof: Remove existing roofing materials (5V crimp galvanized sheet metal panels) and inspect all wood for rot and bad flashings around the chimney. Replace any rotten decking as necessary.
3. Install high-temperature ice and water shield on all eaves, valleys, and pitch changes.
4. Provide and install a new metal roof system (5V crimp 29-gauge galvanized roof panel) with specific requirements for coverage and spacing.
5. Clean up and legally dispose of all debris from the roofing project, ensuring the area around the cabin is safe and free from nails/screws.
6. Optional tasks include installing rake and corner trim on gables, providing hourly pricing for potential decking repairs, and painting/staining exterior walls of storage sheds on the property.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set from September 1, 2024, to October 31, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Caldwell Cabin located within the Alpine Ranger District of Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in Arizona.
