Background
The VA Medical Center Boise, located in Boise, ID, has a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price contract to provide professional Architect/Engineer (A/E) Design Services for the project 531-25-102, Expand Emergency Room.

The goal of this contract is to renovate approximately 10,700 square feet of the Emergency Department to better serve Veterans. The existing Emergency Department is approximately 5,700 square feet, and the adjacent outpatient clinic will be relocated to facilitate this expansion. This project is significant as it aims to enhance healthcare services for Veterans at the facility.

Work Details
The A/E shall provide a complete design for renovations to the Emergency Department (B.85, first floor) of approximately 10,700 square feet.

The scope includes investigative services, planning consultations and visits, comprehensive design work, preparation of contract drawings and specifications, preparation of cost estimates, construction period services including site visits and reports, commissioning, as-built drawings, and other necessary design services.

The project will be executed in two phases: Phase One involves remodeling the existing clinic space to accommodate the Emergency Department; Phase Two involves remodeling the current Emergency Department area. The design must comply with various VA standards and specifications including architectural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical systems and fire safety requirements. The project will also require coordination with the BVAMC’s Interior Designer for all interior finishes.

Period of Performance
Construction is expected to begin in FY2027 Q2 and will follow a detailed design schedule that spans several phases of review and submission over approximately 266 calendar days after Notice of Award.
