The U.S. Embassy Mexico City has a requirement for a professional contractor to render restoration services of the fa ade, parking area, common areas and staircase, to include a guard's booth and hallways, of a U.S. Government owned 4-story building with roof garden. The Contractor shall furnish and install all materials required by this contract as set forth in the drawings, specifications and statement of work in Section J, Attachments. The three main components are as follows:

  • Fa ade, common areas, parking area
  • Guards booth restoration
  • Staircase restoration

The selected contractor will be fully responsible for performing all the necessary work including, the deliverables, timeline, and responsibilities for the restoration services of the fa ade, parking area, common areas and staircase, to include a guard's booth and hallways, of a U.S. Government owned 4-story building with roof garden. The objective is to restore the building components to a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing condition as per drawings. Contractor will be responsible for obtaining any local government permits and license for work in heights an outdoor work. Also, will be responsible to restore building components that are wear and tear to a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing condition, within given time frame, at the lowest technical qualified offeror, meeting quality and safety USG standards, any proposed material must comply with high quality, low maintenance specifications, while achieving compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations. Contractor will be responsible for presenting an offer that considers following listed elements. Provided information on CLIN section is for reference and contractor if a discrepancy is identified, contractor will be responsible to flag it on site visit and determine actual quantities of labor to be executed based on provided drawings and site survey.

This effort will have an estimated value between $100,000 and $250,000 U.S. dollars, per FAR 36.204 (c).

A complete solicitation package with design, schematic drawings, specifications, site visit information and proposals deadline will be posted in the near future.

All construction contractors that respond to the solicitation must be technically qualified and financially responsible to perform the work. At a minimum, each offeror must meet the following requirements when submitting their proposal:

  • Be able to understand written and spoken English;
  • Have an established business with a permanent address and telephone listing;
  • Have the necessary personnel, equipment and financial resources available to perform the work;
  • Have all licenses and permits required by local law;
  • Meet all local insurance requirements;
  • Have the ability to obtain a performance and guarantee bond and a payment bond, or to post adequate performance security, such as irrevocable letters of credit or guarantees issued by a reputable financial institution;
  • Have no adverse criminal record;
  • Have no political or business affiliation which could be considered contrary to the interests of the United States;
  • Have good experience and past performance records; and,
  • Identify specialized experience and technical competence required to complete the construction work in accordance with this solicitation.

All contractors are to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to submitting a quotation pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7.

Background

Work Details

The three main components are: Façade, common areas, parking area; Guards booth restoration; Staircase restoration.
