BIL Funded - Eugene Airport (EUG) ATCT Elevator Modernization

Background
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a solicitation for the modernization and preventive service maintenance agreement of the elevator that serves the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at the Eugene (EUG) Airport in Eugene, OR. The elevator was installed in 1986 and is the primary means of vertical transportation for the building.

Work Details
The scope of work includes a professional assessment to identify all elevator deficiencies, followed by a modernization of the elevator and its components in accordance with the latest edition of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.1 'Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators'. The contractor is required to replace aging components such as elevator controller, hoistway and switches, drive machine and sheaves, governor and safety systems, car structure, elevator cab, hoistway door panels, signal and operating fixtures, painting, fire life safety system, asbestos-containing materials, and other necessary components identified to be non-compliant with ASME A17.1. Additionally, full-service maintenance warranty, inspection, and testing of the elevators are required as per ASME A17.1.

Period of Performance
The performance period is negotiable but must begin within 5 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed. The FAA intends to issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) within 45 days after contract award date.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at the Eugene (EUG) Airport in Eugene, OR.
