Bela/Quartz Creek Portable Fuel Tank

Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, located in Nome, Alaska, operates a remote airstrip known as Quartz Creek (5QC), approximately 80 miles north of Nome. This airstrip is essential for utilizing fixed and rotary wing aircraft to ensure visitor safety and resource protection across the 2.5 million acre preserve.

Due to the challenges of delivering bulk fuel by air or ground, the airstrip currently relies on 55-gallon drums for fuel storage, which has been identified as improper by an Environmental Audit. The goal of this contract is to procure a portable fuel tank that will address these storage issues and meet operational needs.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish a 700-800 gallon portable aviation fuel tank mounted on a DOT rated pull-behind trailer. The specifications for the required equipment include:
- 700-800 Gallon Aviation Rated Fuel Tank
- UN31A/Y Certified
- UL 142 Listed
- Stainless Steel Inner Tank
- Steel Outer Tank
- 110% Containment
- All piping and fittings made of stainless steel
- Steel channel frame for the trailer
- Steel fenders and light guards on the trailer
- Electric brakes with brake safety breakaway system
- 16" steel wheels and ST trailer tires
- DOT lighting
- Tongue jack and 2 5/16" ball coupler with safety chains
- Powder coat finish.

Additionally, an aviation fuel dispersing system must be included, featuring:
- A 12V 25 GPM aviation rated fuel pump with battery kit
- A 12 Volt deep cycle battery with battery box (915 cranking amp rating)
- An automatic battery charger
- FACET VF-21 housing, filter cartridge, sump test drain
- Filter differential pressure gauge
- GPI mechanical totalizing meter
- A 50' aviation certified hose with grounding that meets NFPA standards (407/API Bulletin 1529/2005)
- Spring rewind reel with stainless steel components.
