Background
The U.S. Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) is seeking information from qualified businesses, particularly Small Business (SB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), HubZone (HUBZ), 8(a), and Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Businesses under NAICS code 236220, for the design and construction for remediation of the central power plant at U.S. Embassy Baghdad, Iraq. The project involves the remediation of the central power plant’s operational, maintenance, and performance challenges.

Work Details
The scope of the project includes designing and installing modifications to the existing central power plant, encompassing mechanical, electrical, controls, and other factors affecting its performance. The awarded contractor will be responsible for developing engineering solutions based on recommendations from an independently conducted forensic investigation and the Department of State's study. It is a complete design-build project with an estimated construction cost of $65-80 million. The contract type will be Firm-Fixed Price.

The construction projects will be performed at the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad, Iraq.
