Audio Transcription Services

Background
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking audio transcription services to support its Wildfire Crisis Strategy (WCS). This initiative aims to address the increasing size and intensity of wildfires, particularly in the western United States.

The USDA Forest Service (FS) has identified challenges related to timber sales and management that impact operations across various organizational levels. The goal of this contract is to transcribe interviews conducted with forest managers and other stakeholders, ensuring high accuracy to facilitate effective content analysis without requiring extensive follow-up by research personnel.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Transcribe audio files provided by the research team into written text with a minimum accuracy of 99%.
2. Complete transcription within two weeks of receiving audio files.
3. Deliver clean transcripts that remove filler words, stammers, and other non-essential utterances while maintaining the meaning attributed to the speaker.
4. Provide weekly reports detailing finalized transcripts and any encountered challenges, certifying no data breaches occurred. Transcription will include terminology specific to forest management and federal agency operations.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for performance is May 19, 2025, with ongoing tasks expected to continue as audio files are provided.

Place of Performance
The transcription services will be performed remotely, with file transfers occurring via a secure shared server.
