Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for removing approximately 5,725 square feet of asbestos-containing floor tile and adhesive from the second floor of building 62. The successful contractor shall be responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. The contractor shall provide and maintain insurance during the entire performance period of the contract. The contractor is required to call a pre-construction conference with various personnel to discuss labor standards, prevailing wage requirements, and other relevant topics. The contractor shall submit all materials and articles requiring approval before commencement of work.
The project schedule is based on a normal forty-hour work week, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. The contractor shall inform employees that intoxicating beverages, drugs, weapons, etc., will not be allowed on the site. The use of explosives is absolutely forbidden without written authorization from the Bureau of Prisons. The Contractor shall give the Bureau of Prisons' Representative a minimum of ten (3) working days advanced written notice of the date on which the work will be fully completed and ready for final inspection.
