Area-Wide Pharmacist Staffing Services

Background
The Indian Health Service (IHS), Billings Area Office has a requirement for an Area-Wide Pharmacy Services, as needed at various locations. The IHS is an agency within the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The IHS goal is to assure that accessible health care services are available to the American Indian and Alaska Natives.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide individuals for the positions listed within to perform pharmaceutical services at the Billings Area IHS, herein referred to as BAIHS. These services shall be performed in accordance with all federal, state, local laws and regulations, commercial professional standards, Indian Health Service policy and practice standards, The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Performance-based Work Statement (PWS).

The specific tasks include entering medication orders, checking/verifying medications prior to dispensing, patient counseling, providing drug information to patients/staff, medication dose checking allergy/adverse reaction verification, processing prescription refills, assisting in the operation of pharmacy robotics systems, records patient-provider transactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), as well as other duties as assigned.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is a base period of 12 months with four 12-month option periods unless extended by modification to this contract. Option year renewal is based on satisfactory services provided and availability of funds for the appropriate fiscal year.

Place of Performance
Locations include pharmacies within the Blackfeet Service Unit at Browning, MT and Heart Butte, MT; Fort Peck Service Unit at Poplar, MT and Wolf Point, MT; Fort Belknap Service Unit at Harlem, MT and Hayes, MT; Northern Cheyenne Service Unit at Lame Deer, MT; Crow Service Unit at Crow Agency, MT, Lodge Grass, MT and Pryor, MT; Little Shell Service Unit at Great Falls, MT or Wind River Service Unit at Ft. Washakie, WY.
