Background
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to explore industry solutions for a Machinery Control System (MCS) for the Amphibious Assault Ship (LHA 10).

The LHA 10 is currently under contract with Huntington Ingalls Incorporated, with a planned fabrication start date of December 2026. The goal of this RFI is to gather information on potential MCS solutions that will provide remote monitoring and control of machinery and equipment aboard the ship.

Work Details
The MCS for LHA 10 will consist of over 8,000 integrated signals and must interface directly with the HM&E-LAN, which will also be developed by the MCS vendor. NAVSEA is seeking written responses to several questions regarding the development and delivery of the MCS, including:
- Unique Entity Identifier
- Anticipated challenges in meeting specifications and proposed alternative approaches
- Experience in developing MCS for Naval applications
- Current design adaptability to meet specifications
- Expected duration of detail design phase from contract award through software delivery
- Timeline for design efforts to support hardware delivery by December 2028 and software by December 2030
- Draft development schedule to meet these timelines
- Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimate and cost reduction opportunities based on provided specifications.

Place of Performance
The location for performance includes facilities associated with Huntington Ingalls Incorporated in Pascagoula, MS.
