Description

The contractor shall provide all materials and qualified skilled and un-skilled labor to provide continuing education units (CEU) for Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical training to Buckley Space Force Base (BSFB) firefighters. In addition, the contractor shall teach intravenous (IV) training to BSFB Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and shall teach Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses to BSFB paramedics. Additionally, the contractor shall provide training to certify 46 firefighters and 911 dispatchers the cognitive skills evaluations in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) Program every two years.

Background
The contract is issued by Buckley Space Force Base (BSFB) with the goal of providing continuing education units (CEU) for Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical training to firefighters. The agency aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of its emergency medical personnel, including firefighters and paramedics, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary training to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all materials and qualified skilled and un-skilled labor for the following training services:

1. Provide continuing education units (CEUs) for ALS medical training.
2. Teach intravenous (IV) training to BSFB Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
3. Conduct Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses for BSFB paramedics, which includes an 8-hour instructor-led class focusing on BLS and ACLS skills, ECG interpretation, and ACLS pharmacology.
4. Conduct Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses for BSFB paramedics, also an 8-hour instructor-led class aimed at healthcare providers responding to emergencies in infants and children.
5. Provide American Heart Association Heartsaver Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) training for all Buckley Firefighters and 911 Dispatchers, ensuring they can perform CPR and use an AED effectively. This course also lasts two years before recertification is needed.
6. Deliver thirty-six hours annually of scheduled monthly CEUs that include instructive and skills-based learning sessions, referencing NREMT, State, and Denver Metro Protocol guidelines under the scope of practice for ALS and BLS level providers.
