Background
The USDA Forest Service is issuing this contract to construct deer exclosure fences around timber stands in the Allegheny National Forest. The primary objective is to keep white-tailed deer out and prevent browsing on tree seedlings, thereby supporting forest regeneration and health.

Work Details
The contract involves the construction of eight-foot woven wire fences (7 to 8 feet high with up to 1 foot overlap on the ground) in designated forested areas. The contractor is responsible for providing all supervision, labor, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary for completion.

Specific tasks include:
- Clearing a path at least eight feet wide for fence installation, which may involve removing heavy brush, stumps, and large rocks.
- Felling hazard trees that pose a risk to the fence location.
- Erecting the fence by fastening it to posts or trees while ensuring protection of existing trees.
- Using materials such as woven wire fence, treated wood posts, and various fastening supplies.
- Maintaining compliance with site designations marked by flagging tape and notifying the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) of any significant changes in fence line locations.

Period of Performance
The contractor must begin performance within 14 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed and complete the work within 334 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will take place within the Allegheny National Forest across several counties in Pennsylvania: Warren, McKean, Elk, and Forest.
