9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine

Background
The United States Secret Service (USSS), Office of Training, is seeking to replace its inventory of MP5 submachine guns to better serve the Agency's needs.

The goal is to procure up to 1,000 units of 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbines for operational and training requirements throughout the life of this contract, which will support not only the USSS but also other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components.

This Request for Information (RFI) is being conducted to gather information from vendors capable of providing these firearms in a multi-year Firm Fixed Price Contract vehicle.

Work Details
The USSS requires a 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine available in standard and compact/‘PDW’ variants, operable in all environmental conditions.

Key specifications include:
- Operability for right or left-handed users without modification.
- External metal parts must have a dark, rust/corrosion resistant finish that withstands gun cleaning solvents.
- The firearm must utilize a closed-bolt, mechanically delayed operating system.
- Chambered for 9x19mm Parabellum with a barrel service life of at least 5,000 rounds and capable of using various ammunition types.
- Semi-automatic mode of fire with an ambidextrous fire selector and two-stage trigger pull between 3.00 and 5.00 pounds.
- Features such as a rear charging handle, magazine-activated bolt hold open device, and compatibility with GLOCK magazines are required.
- The design must include specifications for both 'Full Size' and 'PDW' variants with specific dimensions and weight limits.
