The purpose of this RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 333415 (size standard of 1250 Employees). Responses to this RFI will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this RFI, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this RFI synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can provide Blood Bank Refrigerator to store blood supplies that at a minimum meets the following salient characteristics with a brand name or equal product for the VA New Mexico (Albuquerque) Healthcare System: The refrigerator must have a capacity of 44 to 46 cubic feet. The refrigerators exterior dimensions in inches must fall in the following range: Width: 53 - 55 Height: 57 - 58.5 Depth: 22 - 24 The refrigerator must be capable of maintaining a set point of +4 degrees Celsius with minimal fluctuations. Temperature fluctuations shall remain between, +1 to +6 degrees Celsius. The refrigerator must have a digital temperature monitoring system (data logger) that provides 24/7 tracking/monitoring of the refrigerators temperature. The refrigerator must have a minimum of one (1) access port to allow for external temperature monitoring probe(s) to be inserted. All temperature monitoring devices must be medical grade. The refrigerator must have a touch screen display for user interface. The refrigerator must have double doors that open from the front. Users must be able to view the contents of the refrigerator without having to open the doors. The refrigerator doors should have a self-closing feature that ensures the doors close after being opened. The refrigerator doors must be lockable. The internal storage of the refrigerator must be drawers. The refrigerator must have a minimum of 14 slide out drawers. Each drawer must be liquid-tight to prevent spills from leaking out of the drawers. Drawers must be able to hold up to 728 units of blood products that will be stored in standard red blood cell (RBC) blood bags. The refrigerator must have the ability to captures spills. The spill capture system must be removal to allow for emptying and cleaning. The refrigerator must be compatible with existing electrical outlets that are 110V 120V, 60Hz, 15amps. The refrigerator must have the following plug type, NEMA 5-15. The refrigerator must have an internal backup power supply that will automatically supply power to maintain temperature monitoring. The refrigerator must be capable of providing both audible and visual notifications of power loss and when backup power is being used. The refrigerator must have both audible and visual temperature sensor alarm that alerts users when temperature fluctuations beyond +1 to +6 degrees Celsius. The refrigerator must have both audible and visual alarm that alerts users when the doors are left opened. The refrigerators internal and external surfaces must be made of bacteria-resistant materials. The refrigerator must be constructed of medical grade materials designed for blood storage. The refrigerator must have swivel locking casters wheels that allow the refrigerator to be moved. The refrigerator must have feet that allow for leveling on uneven surfaces. The refrigerator must use EPA compliant refrigerant. The refrigerator must comply with FDA requirements for blood product storage. The refrigerator must be energy star certified.
