Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure an Agilent BioTek Synergy H1 Multimode Reader to support ongoing VA Biomedical Laboratory Research & Development at the Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center. The purpose of the project is to facilitate the completion of a VA Merit funded research examining the roles of TRAF3IP2 and LARP6 in cardiac remodeling and function. The primary goal is to understand the causal role of TRAF3 Interacting Protein 2 (TRAF3IP2) and La-related Protein 6 (LARP6) in the development and progression of myocardial hypertrophy to heart failure, and determine how targeting these molecules will inhibit adverse myocardial remodeling and transition to heart failure.

Work Details
The Agilent BioTek Synergy H1 Multimode Reader is a modular multimode microplate reader, with monochromator-based optics and filter-based optics. The purchase includes installation, calibration, training, and certification of the installation in the designated area of VA Research Department. The reader provides flexibility and performance with a combination of monochromator and filter optics for any microplate assay and flexible detection capabilities. It also includes fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, luminescence, UV-Visible absorbance, microplate options, ambient temperature control, upgradability for additional detection modes, gas control, dual reagent injectors, environmental control for cell-based assays, microvolume analysis, and dual syringe injectors.

The delivery location is at the Department of Veterans Affairs Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.
