48 SFS Ballistic Shelters and Shields   3

Background
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath in the UK has a requirement for Ballistic Shelters and Mobile Protective Shields. The 48th Security Forces Squadron (48 SFS) is responsible for the safety and security of all personnel and assets at RAF Lakenheath. They are the primary first responders for any criminal activity, installation breaches, and incidents that threaten serious bodily harm or loss of life. The purchase of Ballistic Shelters and Mobile Protective Shields is in line with current works to install Level-III ballistics satisfactory guard shacks at locations needed to protect high-value assets. The requirement for this type of facility can be found in UFC 4-022-01 'Entry Control Facilities/Access Control Points' as well as Allied Command Operations Directive 80-6.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide 22 mobile sentry cabins and 16 mobile protective shields to create a Level-III facility for defenders to shield themselves from standoff attacks as outlined in paragraph 5-7.4.2 of UFC 4-022-01. The provided equipment must meet all applicable directives listed in paragraph 4.5 of the Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor is also responsible for integrating and coordinating all activities needed to execute this requirement, managing the timeliness, completeness, and quality of problem identification, promptly identifying issues, ensuring mission partner satisfaction, and maintaining professional and ethical behavior of all contractor personnel.
