Upgrade and Repair Elevator 73, FAC S312, Red Hill, JBPHH

The NAVSUP FLCPH fuel department supports critical operations for all DOD and other agencies in the USINDOPACOM AOR by providing bulk fuel. In order to continue operations and maintenance of all equipment and facilities in the tunnel elevator 73 is required for function reliably and transport heavy loads. The requirement is to engineer and replace all defective components of Red Hill Elevator 73 in accordance with current ANSI A17.1 2010 elevator code and ensure long term serviceability for maintenance contractors and reliable transportation for fuel operators to use. For example the elevator cab rail guide sheave system is problematic due to high stress and unbalanced wear rates; replacing it with a roller type guide or other approved industry mechanism will avoid equipment failure and down time to repair. Another example is the ADIT 6 doors continually bind and hinder opening and closing; replace them with self lubricating or roller guided door tracks. The elevator 73 machine room currently lacks proper cooling and humidity control for the equipment it houses; install proper enclosures, walls, air conditioning, properly seal or divert water intrusion to the area, and other means to meet this criteria. Primary components are: new non proprietary microprocessor elevator controller, absolute position landing system with encoded stainless steel tape, new hoist way limit switches, new VVVF high efficiency AC hoist motor, New ANSI code compliant fire service fixtures, new wiring for car, hoist way and machine room, new hoist way door interlocks & closers at all floors to improve reliability.
