Description
The existing below ground cable plant network supporting RDT&E, NMCI, and Lab network for NIPR/SIPR connectivity is in degraded condition. The duct bank system support the existing cable is in a collapsing condition due to weather, age, and non-maintenance. To remain in compliance with current system upgrades all fiber at Saint Juliens Creek will need to be-upgraded to current standards. Request to have NAVFAC design and construct a new aboveground cable plant network, and run new compliant fiber through the aerial aboveground network to each existing and planned NIWC facility at Saint Julien's Creek. Critically needed to increase output of classified/unclassified mission objectives. Q4, FY24, Award of RFP, Design in Q3 of FY24.
