Description
Problem Statement: Building 3 terracotta is severely degraded and posing significant safety issues due to potential falling hazards of the degraded material as well as damage from water infiltration to the interior of the building. Scope of Work: Complete replacement of the terracotta on the exterior of the building to maintain the structural soundness and keep further damage from occurring inside (~21,700SF) Estimated Cost: $1,085,000 (~$17 $50/SF, historical building) Funding Source: CNIC Estimated FY: FY22 APM Comments: Bldg. 3 was surveyed for asbestos in 2018 with exception of roof. Asbestos was identified on the exterior of the building (vent caulking and soffit joint filler). Contact APM for copy of report. Suspect hazardous materials affected by this project that have not been previously tested must be tested prior to disturbance or handled as such. Submit RFP/design to APM for review. CRM Comments: B3 is a historic building. Project will required a Section 106 consultation review and project coordination with IL SHPO prior to starting any physical work. AM Comments: Approved. A V7 record for 1391 will be required. EV Comments Conduct a NEPA review.
