Overview
Description
USAID is considering the construction of a rail segment from Poland to Lviv. This could include upgrading one-way rail line to support bi-directional flow of trains and supporting the improvement of infrastructure to support future construction of Ukrainian infrastructure which meets EU rail standards. This is critical to ensure that the line upgraded will continue to carry current train traffic even substantial construction phases are completed. From a technical level, this project could upgrade system signaling and infrastructure and add necessary passing loops to make sure trains do not collide on a bidirectional line.
