FEMA Fleet Telematics

Type: Forecast • Source ID: F2022059145

Overview

Description
FEMA seeks to improve agency vehicle utilization, efficiency, and management by collecting and utilizing data as a fleet efficiency management tool. FEMA requires higher visibility into the operations of its fleet. FEMA does not currently possess vehicle data communication technology to monitor vehicle operations or maintenance data, making fleet data quality and management challenging. This data is critical to vehicle maintenance and to DHS's and FEMA's fleet-wide decision-making and planning efforts. By acquiring additional technology that provides the capability of transmitting vehicle data to a centralized data management solution, FEMA will be positioned to realize additional benefits that go beyond fuel cost savings. These benefits include, an improved vehicle acquisition strategy, decreased maintenance costs, improved vehicle utilization, the elimination of time consuming manual activities, and increased data accuracy.
