Description
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Enterprise Infrastructure and Operation Directorate (EIOD), Network Architecture and Engineering Division (NAED) provides management services and oversight of the CBP infrastructure to protect, defend and restore the confidentiality, integrity and availability of CBP mission essential data communications and applications. The purpose of this task order is to provide network architecture and network engineering services. NAE ensures a standardized, high performance, and secure enterprise network architecture for the CBP enterprise that seamlessly integrates existing and emerging technologies. NAED, which comprises the Network Architecture Branch (NAB) and Network Engineering Branch (NEB), supports the CBP mission by delivering network architecture and network engineering services to OIT Program Directorate and Division customers and partners. NAB develops and maintains the network standards and architecture to ensure network services and solutions align with the CBP and OIT mission and goals. NAB also tracks industry trends, evaluates and recommends emerging technologies and solutions, advises on the enterprise network strategy, and works with the CBP lines of business and program offices to analyze business and functional requirements for the network. NEB provides network designs, network security, and network performance engineering services to OIT. NEB is responsible for determining ways to maximize network performance by providing recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. NEB is also responsible for ensuring the network design is in alignment with the network architecture and efficiently and effectively transports application traffic throughout the network. NAED supports various OIT Information Technology (IT) initiatives and requires an IT services model that addresses the ability to account for different types of funds attributed to different services and projects (e.g. charge back model). Some of the key CBP technology partners consist of, but are not limited to, Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, F5, Infoblox, NetScout, Riverbed, Palo Alto, CA Technologies, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and Dell. CBP is actively modernizing its IT infrastructure and engaging in various initiatives to evaluate and implement emerging technologies, migrate to the cloud, support mobile platforms, and continually improve the performance, security, and availability of its network services. The Government requires the contractor to perform the following network architecture task, engineering tasks, and network implementation services in the following areas: Integrate Emerging Technologies, Develop Enterprise Network Strategy and Standards, Engineer and Implement Network Solutions, Network Performance Engineering, Network Security, Escalation Support, Program / Project Management, Transition Planning, On-Demand Services, Task Management, AirWatch Support, and Video Teleconferencing VTC System Support.
