Description
The Multi-Domain Intelligence (MDI) program is an initiative by the Army Intelligence Enterprise focused on modernizing military intelligence capabilities to support Mission Command in Multi-domain Operations by 2028. This framework aims to enhance the speed, precision, and accuracy of intelligence operations through advanced technology and improved data management practices. Key objectives include modernizing sensors, advancing analytical tradecraft, and supporting commanders in making timely decisions to maintain a decisive advantage.

The Intelligence Applications and Integration (Intel Apps) program is a crucial part of MDI, designed to provide next-generation intelligence capabilities aligned with the National Defense Strategy. This software-centric initiative seeks to integrate various intelligence applications into a cloud environment or dedicated hardware platforms, thereby eliminating redundant systems. The program will transition to the Software Acquisition Pathway in FY2024, with ongoing integration and testing of applications such as Weather Operational Effects and Information Collection Management.

The Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP), also known as Capability Drop 2 (CD2), is another significant component under MDI. Managed by the Army's Intelligence Security Command, AIDP focuses on modernizing the Army Intelligence Data Enterprise with advanced data warehousing and analytical capabilities. The focus for FY25 includes integrating user feedback through a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environment and implementing a Development Security Operations approach to enhance system functionalities.

Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) within MDI involves developing the Army Integrated Geospatial Enterprise Capability (AIGEC). This effort aims to modernize geospatial hardware and software capabilities to support multi-domain operations. Objectives for FY25 include integrating tactical geospatial capabilities, modernizing hardware and software, and developing 3D One World Terrain. The strategy emphasizes leveraging commercial technologies to reduce costs while delivering superior capabilities to warfighters.
