Description
Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is an initiative by the Air Force focused on enhancing information management, knowledge operations, and security through integrated programs and technologies. The primary objective is to provide Air Force personnel with timely and accurate mission data to support superior decision-making capabilities. This initiative utilizes Platform One (P1) and Enterprise Resource Planning Common Services (ERP CS) to offer secure platforms, application support services, and cloud migration strategies for hosting mission-critical applications.

Platform One aims to deliver Development/Security/Operations (DevSecOps) managed services at an enterprise scale. Its goal is to accelerate software delivery and digital transformation within the Department of the Air Force by providing a secure software development platform. Platform One offers products such as Iron Bank for software supply chain security, Big Bang for deploying secure DevSecOps platforms, Party Bus for continuous software development, and Cloud Native Access Point (CNAP) for secure cloud access. These tools are designed to enhance the adoption of DevSecOps methodologies in line with the Department of Defense's Digital Modernization strategy.

The Enterprise Resource Planning Common Services (ERP CS) component focuses on providing compliant enterprise application hosting environments. It is dedicated to designing and delivering consolidated services for ERP applications within a cloud environment under Cloud One. The objectives include supporting agile development, meeting cybersecurity requirements, and facilitating the migration of key systems like MRO, DEAMS, and AFIPPS to modernized cloud infrastructures. This effort ensures that Air Force ERP systems are supported by resilient IT infrastructure that aligns with DoD priorities.

Enterprise Information Services seeks to integrate technical expertise and programmatic guidance across multiple hosting environments while ensuring compliance with Air Force IT baselines. By doing so, it supports application rationalization processes and lifecycle capabilities integration testing. These efforts are crucial for maintaining secure and efficient operations within the Air Force's information technology landscape.
