LCS Common Mission Modules Equipment

LI 1600 LCS Common Mission Modules Equipment, is focused on providing the operational commander with capabilities to perform Mine Countermeasures (MCM) operations and a Surface Warfare (SUW) detect-to-engage capability to counter small boat threats. The program funds the procurement of MCM and SUW Mission Package (MP) support containers and equipment that are common across the mission packages. This includes the Mission Package Computing Environment (MPCE), Technology Refresh of the Multi-Vehicle Communications System (MVCS), and Training Equipment. The goal is to provide a combination of warfare Mission Modules with specialized crew, support equipment, and vehicles, including embarked manned helicopters, unmanned aircraft, and maritime systems in a modular fashion so that they can be quickly swapped in and out pier side on any LCS platform.

The specific objectives of Program LI 1600 include the procurement of MCM and SUW MP support containers and equipment that are common across the mission packages. This includes the Mission Package Computing Environment (MPCE), Technology Refresh of the Multi-Vehicle Communications System (MVCS), and Training Equipment. The program aims to provide a common computing environment to support the execution of Mission Package Application Software (MPAS) associated with each mission package that enables execution of its focused mission. Additionally, it focuses on the procurement of LCS Mission Module training systems for LCS crews to learn the safe and effective use of Mission Package equipment, including mission systems, support equipment, and support containers. The program also supports tactical watch team training as well as crew certifications using Common Mission Package Trainers (CMPT) in combination with Integrated Tactical Trainers (ITTs).
