Launcher, 2.75 Rocket

The Launcher 2.75 Rocket, falls under the Aviation Rockets and Small Guided Munitions Product Office and serves as the executive procurement agent for all services and Foreign Military customers for all variants of 2.75 Inch Hydra-70 Rocket Launchers. The specific goal of this program is to procure 85 M261 launchers for the Army in support of deployed units' ongoing military operations, with a focus on homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities. Additionally, the program aims to address obsolescence, safety, reliability, weapon integration activities, test sets, engineering changes, and production issues related to the launcher system.

The M261 19-tube analog launcher and the M260 7-tube analog launcher are utilized to fire 2.75 Inch Hydra-70 Guided / Unguided Rockets from platforms such as AH-64 Apache, H-60 Blackhawk, and Special Operations aircraft. These analog launchers are non-repairable but durable enough to withstand at least 16 rocket firings per tube before being discarded. The program also focuses on resolving obsolescence issues related to the launcher system and supports safety, reliability, weapon integration activities, test sets, engineering changes, and production issues.
