KC-46A MDAP

KC-46A MDAP aims to provide the Air Force with the capability to fuel joint and coalition receivers via a boom or drogue system on every mission, while also augmenting the airlift fleet with cargo, passenger, and aeromedical evacuation capabilities. The program's objectives include operating in day/night and adverse weather conditions to enable deployment, employment, sustainment, and redeployment of U.S. joint, allied, and coalition forces. Additionally, the program aims to equip the KC-46 with communication, navigation, and surveillance equipment for worldwide operations, as well as the capability to perform missions in chemical and biological environments. The program will continue to identify, design, develop, integrate, verify, certify, produce, install, field, and sustain a comprehensive range of non-recurring and recurring post-production air vehicle enhancements and field support needs.

The KC-46A MDAP program will also focus on addressing a broad range of mission support needs by developing, fielding, and sustaining warfighter capabilities to meet evolving threats through block or discrete modification or modernization programs. These modifications may include avionics and structural systems/architecture updates, general mission equipment updates and procurement, general sustainment support, studies and analyses, correction of deficiency reports, winglets installation, reliability & maintainability mods, safety mods, avionics and flight systems enhancements (such as the Pegasus Advanced Communications Suite modification), efforts executed under the auspices of Pegasus Combat Capability (PC2), requirements identified and supported by Major Command (MAJCOM)-approved 1067s.
