Description
Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) is a Department of Defense (DoD) initiative aimed at providing an enterprise-wide test capability to support system-to-system interoperability testing, mission-level environment testing, and cyber event operations. This program is aligned with the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and aims to advance the development of resilient, survivable, federated networks and information ecosystems while testing and assessing cyber defenses to build a more lethal force. JMETC implements infrastructure capabilities defined in the DoD Testing in a Joint Environment Roadmap to provide acquisition program managers with a robust nationwide capability to test like we fight. It supports system development to measure and improve interoperability performance and cyber resiliency, which would not be readily available to Service/Component acquisition programs otherwise.

The JMETC Distributed Test project under this program supports DoD distributed test and training events, including system interoperability certification, assessments, command and control systems, air and missile defense, aircraft testing, precision-guided bombs, munitions testing, missile tracking and guidance, among others. Additionally, it provides test planning support to users and organizations for conducting interoperability testing on numerous DoD systems. The project also focuses on modernizing post-test enterprise service capabilities by developing a federated enterprise T&E data repository to support the evaluation of large data sets, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) data. Furthermore, it plans to continue supporting new and emerging acquisition programs while transitioning DARPA developed tools and test laboratories into the National Cyber Range for continued development in support of INDOPACOM requirements. These efforts are aimed at meeting joint test and evaluation needs of the Services and in-theater experimentation campaign needs of the Combatant Commands.
